Hi and welcome to my professional corner of the web. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been working in the field of educational technology for the past ten years. I have served as a computer teacher for various educational settings and have recently begun a new chapter in my career as the K-12 technology Integration Specialist at Southern Columbia Area School District.
During my time as a teacher, I have worked as a team leader and developed a friendly rapport with my fellow teaching staff. Over the years, I have developed technology activities and training for professional development in multiple school districts. I have developed technology-based, grade-appropriate lessons and loved teaching technology to my students. I am always seeking new technologies to teach and implement in my classroom. I have a strong understanding of key learning theories and methods of instruction and their relation to technology integration. I am also very familiar with methods for integrating technology into the curriculum such as developing WebQuests, online course work, wikispaces, online resources, digital portfolios and other forms of assessment.
My technology skills are up-to-date in various computer spectrums including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, web-page development, presentation and multimedia development, basic web server maintenance, digital video and audio editing, image processing, graphics abilities, and basic programming. In my current position I also serve the role of computer technician as I support over 300 computers and various applications. I have years of experience with effective technology teaching strategies in teaching software and hardware skills to both adults and adolescents. I have experience with webpage design, specializing in HTML and Dreamweaver. I also have training in graphic arts and digital design in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Flash. I serve the role of webmaster for my current school district.
On a personal note, I have always fully embraced technology. I am natural troubleshooter, and if there is a problem I strive for a solution. I am bright and a quick learner whom has a strong educational background to support me. I aim to be approachable and helpful to the staff I work with.
